Nestling on the shores of the Arcachon basin, Le Ker Helen campsite is celebrating its 60th anniversary. And for the occasion, a summer full of surprises is in store! <\/p>\n\n

Camping Ker Helen, a family affair<\/h2>\n\n

Thestory of Ker Helen<\/strong> is one of a place firmly rooted in its territory, of a strong bond with nature, and of a wonderful human adventure that continues every summer, between loyal holidaymakers and newcomers.<\/p>\n\n

Just over 60 years ago, on July 1 1965<\/strong>, H\u00e9l\u00e8ne and Jean Pujade<\/strong> took the daring gamble of transforming farmland into a campsite. Their dream? To create a “garden at the gateway to the ocean”, on the shores of the Bay of Arcachon<\/strong>. By the early 1970s, the two-star campsite had 70 pitches. By 1993, it had grown to 120 and was awarded an additional star. <\/p>\n\n

The adventure took a new turn in 1996, when Lionel, son of H\u00e9l\u00e8ne and Jean Pujade, took over the reins of the family business. The campsite evolved and modernized, but remained true to its original spirit<\/strong>: nature, simplicity and a warm welcome. <\/p>\n\n

In 1998, capacity was increased to 140 pitches.Landscape integration remains the priority <\/strong>: each facility is designed to blend into its surroundings, offering discreet comfort and preserving the peaceful atmosphere that is the soul of Ker Helen<\/strong>. In November 2011, the campsite was awarded its fourth star<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n

In 2024, Ker Helen continues to innovate while preserving the authenticity of the site: Lodges Kenya tents<\/strong> make their appearance, a new restaurant terrace<\/strong>, charging stations <\/strong>for electric vehicles…<\/p>\n\n

Today, the Ker Helen campsite continues the family adventure, where the friendly spirit and attachment to the simple values of camping remain the pillars of the experience.<\/p>\n\n

Spacious pitches<\/a> welcome tent, caravan and motorhome campers. Modern, comfortable accommodation – mobile homes, lodge tents and chalets<\/a> – is available to suit every taste. All set in unspoilt natural surroundings on the shores of the Bay of Arcachon<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n

1965 \/ 2025: Celebrating 60 years!<\/h2>\n\n

This summer, Ker Helen celebrates its 60th birthday. It’s a birthday we’ll be celebrating together, with shared memories and joyful moments at the heart of the campsite. A number of special events are being planned to bring families and regulars together, with festive entertainment, a nod to the past, and surprises for all ages. <\/p>\n\n
