Canoeing down the Leyre, a fun, natural experience!
If you’re in the mood for adventure, head for the port of Le Teich! Choose from a range of half-day and full-day trips to discover the Leyre, one of Gironde’s wildest rivers. There are no roads along the Leyre Valley, so canoeing is the best way to discover the river known as the “Little Amazon” (because of its amber color). This magnificent river rises in the Landes region and ends its course in the Bassin d’Arcachon. Between the two, we discover a mysterious and little-known world except for the dragonflies, small water turtles and numerous birds that call it home. The site is renowned for its ecological wealth, which you can observe by paddling along the waterways.
