Canoeing down the Leyre, a fun, natural experience!

If you’re in the mood for adventure, head for the port of Le Teich! Choose from a range of half-day and full-day trips to discover the Leyre, one of Gironde’s wildest rivers. There are no roads along the Leyre Valley, so canoeing is the best way to discover the river known as the “Little Amazon” (because of its amber color). This magnificent river rises in the Landes region and ends its course in the Bassin d’Arcachon. Between the two, we discover a mysterious and little-known world except for the dragonflies, small water turtles and numerous birds that call it home. The site is renowned for its ecological wealth, which you can observe by paddling along the waterways. Ideally, opt for a guided tour that takes you into the depths of the gallery forest, a local curiosity that forms a protective dome over the river. You’ll also discover the meadows of the Leyre delta, a Ramsar-listed site of international importance. A change of scenery guaranteed!

A must-do sea kayak trip on the Bay of Arcachon!

On your own or with a qualified instructor, take advantage of your camping holiday to discover the Bay of Arcachon to the rhythm of the paddles! Boats and sea kayaks are the only way to discover this unspoilt natural environment. Among the must-sees on your nautical itinerary: Ile aux Oiseaux and its cabanes tchanquées, the fishing villages and oyster ports of the Côte Noroît (La Teste-de-Buch and La Hume among others), not forgetting the Banc d’Arguin and the Dune du Pilat! You’ll love cruising along the salt marshes and ancient reed beds, past the oyster beds of the Grand Banc, and finally to the edge of the ocean. The campsite’s favorite: a picnic at the top of the Dune du Pilat to delight all your senses, or a stroll along the basin at sunset!
