From December 16 to January 7, Arcachon celebrates Christmas! Santa’s arrival by boat will herald the start of the festivities… Camping Ker Helen invites you to take a tour of the Christmas village, with its traditional illuminations and chalets, Christmas shows and entertainment, ice rink and Ferris wheel on the seafront, not forgetting the arrival of Santa Claus… Magic and enchantment not to be missed!
Christmas events: an overview of the program
Santa’s arrival by boat will be accompanied by the traditional Christmas bath, on Saturday December 16 at 2.30pm. The less chilly will welcome Santa Claus as soon as he arrives by boat (a tradition on the Arcachon Basin!) opposite the Palais des Congrès. No doubt a glass of cinnamon mulled wine or a cup of chocolate will be welcome after the swim! Children will be delighted to accompany Santa Claus to the Village in the company of his elves. During these 3 weeks of festivities, visitors can look forward to a wide range of family entertainment and shows. Highlights include the Ferris wheel and open-air skating rink on Place Thiers, concerts and children’s entertainment, not forgetting tours of the town lit up by the magic of Christmas!
The local, gourmet and fun Christmas village!
With your bonnet pulled tightly over your ears, you’ll be able to stroll among the stalls and decorations of the Christmas village which, as every year, takes up its winter quarters on the Thiers pier. It’s the perfect place to get into the spirit of the Christmas vacations with the kids, sample regional, artisanal and seasonal products (mulled wine, chocolates, sweets, crêpes, oysters, roasted chestnuts…), meet the merchants, artisans and designers as you stroll from chalet to chalet… and come away with gift ideas galore!
