Gironde, a land of vacations and camping
Spending a holiday in Gironde allows you to discover all the superb sites its territory has to offer, including the famous Bassin d’Arcachon. Its capital, the city of Bordeaux, is an excellent example of a place not to be missed during your vacation. Its dynamism and cultural richness make it one of the top destinations for holidaymakers in search of new discoveries.
Nature lovers, meanwhile, prefer to explore the Atlantic coastline, particularly the Bassin d’Arcachon, with its ports, sandy beaches and unspoilt natural areas. The area’s cycle paths and footpaths make it a delight to explore. To the north of the Bassin d’Arcachon are the Lac de Lacanau and Lac d’Hourtin lakes, other natural areas to discover from our campsite in Nouvelle-Aquitaine.
Seaside break in Gironde
The Gironde is a great place for swimmers. Its Atlantic coastline, virtually straight before the Bassin d’Arcachon, forms long sandy beaches ideal for long afternoons of swimming, lapping up the waves or basking in the sun. The Bassin d’Arcachon is a remarkable aquatic microcosm.
The Gironde is also ideal for water sports such as sailing, kite-surfing and sea kayaking.
The Gironde department offers you its natural spaces, unspoilt coastline, heritage and Bordeaux wines, and welcomes you with its estuary, lakes, rivers and, of course, its ocean beaches.
