Since July 02, 2017, the new high-speed line to the South-West – LGV Océane – has been in service! Good news for holidaymakers from Paris and the Paris region, who will now be able to reach Arcachon in less than 3h00, i.e. 1 hour and 15 minutes faster! All the more reason to spend a vacation or weekend in the Arcachon Basin without wasting time on the train!
Paris – Arcachon in record time, with daily connections!
Starting this summer, you can leave Paris Montparnasse station at 10.50am and arrive in Arcachon at 1.52pm – a journey time of 2 hours 52 minutes, with no changes or connections! A few weeks ago, it would have taken no less than 4h05 to complete the journey! In July and August, the SNCF operates one daily service on weekdays and two services on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
Although in autumn, the Paris > Arcachon service will run exclusively on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, it’s still a godsend for anyone wishing to spend an off-season weekend at the Ker Helen campsite and take advantage of the time saved to discover the Arcachon basin!
Your vacation starts as soon as you board the train!
And yes, everything has been thought out for the comfort and well-being of passengers! New features include brand-new Duplex trains redesigned by the design agency Saguez & Partners, larger seats offering more space for passengers, wifi and 4G access along the entire line, a route information screen, spaces reserved for people with reduced mobility, a completely redesigned bar for greater conviviality… There’s no stopping progress!
