The history of Camping Ker Helen
Sixty years of family adventure
The story of Camping Ker Helen began on July 1, 1965, when Hélène and Jean Pujade transformed farmland into a campsite. Their plan was to create a vacation resort as close to nature as possible, at the gateway to the ocean on the Bay of Arcachon.
In the early 1970s, the two-star campsite had 70 pitches. In 1993, its capacity was increased to 120 pitches and it was awarded an additional star. In 1996, the family adventure continued when Lionel Pujade took over the campsite. The site evolved, modernized and remained true to its original spirit.
In 1998, capacity reached 140 sites. Landscaping remains a priority, to preserve the peaceful atmosphere of the site. In November 2011, the campsite was awarded its fourth star.
In 2024, new developments see the light of day with the arrival of Lodge Kenya tents, a new restaurant terrace and electric vehicle charging stations.

A family-friendly campsite
A simple, warm spirit
Camping Ker Helen has been family-run since 1996. Today, Lionel Pujade is accompanied by his wife Marie-Hélène Pujade, the privileged contact for holidaymakers. The family spirit is reflected in the warm welcome, availability and desire to offer a pleasant environment for all. The campsite is appreciated for its friendly atmosphere, shady pitches and green surroundings. Families with young children, couples and seniors are among the clientele welcomed, with a majority of French holidaymakers, as well as German and English visitors. The atmosphere is one of conviviality and simplicity, in a natural setting conducive to rest and conversation.
