Listen to music to relax

It’s a well-known fact that music softens the soul! During this period of confinement, dance, theater and opera invite themselves into your living room! On the Arcachon culture website, you can watch shows, listen to concerts and opera arias. On the program: “Swan Lake”, “The Tsar’s Bride”, “Sleeping Beauty” and many other historic ballets. In the same vein, the Facebook page of Escapades musicales, a touring classical music festival around the Arcachon basin, invites you to (re)discover shows from past seasons, available free of charge!

Stroll along the Dune du Pilat from the comfort of your sofa

If you can’t climb the Dune du Pilat for real, take a 360-degree virtual tour of Europe’s largest sand mountain! Three unusual views are available: at sunrise, during the day and at sunset, for total immersion from the comfort of your sofa. Want more? Take a virtual tour of some of Gironde ‘s prettiest spots at www.hdmedia.fr.

Getting kids moving in between math lessons

Homeschooling is no picnic, and kids need to let off a lot of steam. We’ve come up with a humorous way to get your little ones moving. It’s called “pauses actives”, a concept that comes to us straight from Quebec and is aimed at children from kindergarten to primary school. They’ll love it, and even their parents can get in on the act!

Birdwatching from home

With the silence of confinement, the birds have regained their voices. Take the opportunity to observe them from your garden, balcony or window. On the LPO (Ligue pour la Protection des Oiseaux) website, you can learn how to recognize the most frequently observed species in town and country: robin, great tit, sparrow, blackbird, crow… The association is relaunching its species counting program, renamed “Confinés mais aux aguets” for the occasion. Anyone can register and record their observations online. It’s up to you! You can also have fun distinguishing their song thanks to the sound library of the association “Les Amis des Animaux”. With all this, you’re all set to discover the Réserve Ornithologique du Teich and its feathered guests as soon as it reopens!

Watching feel-good movies

What could be better than a good comedy to take your mind off your confinement? Why not see (or re-see) films shot in the Arcachon basin, such as “Les petits mouchoirs”, directed by Guillaume Canet. Not forgetting the “Camping” saga starring Franck Dubosc, which brings back memories of vacations in Arcachon, Cap Ferret and La Teste-de-Buch. A change of scenery guaranteed!

In accordance with government directives, Camping Le Ker Helen is closed until further notice.
