Heat wave forecast! How would you like to spend a day in a large water park in the heart of the Arcachon Basin? Grab your swimsuit and head for Aqualand, in Gujan-Mestras!

A great day of fun and relaxation in the water!
Between the Dune du Pilat and the ocean, just a few minutes from our Le Ker Helen campsite, the Parc Aqualand du Bassin d’Arcachon is THE surfing destination of the summer! Young and old alike can fill up on fresh air, swimming, fun and thrills. Covering an area of 8 hectares, theArcachon water park offers a dozen exceptional attractions to enjoy with family and friends. There is something for everyone and every age!
Speed down the Aqualand slides
One of the Gujan-Mestras water park’s star attractions is The Wave, one of its most popular slides: a vertical drop that makes you feel weightless for just a few seconds! You’ll also want to try out the Surfer Racer, where you can hurtle down the slopes on a foam carpet for a unique sliding sensation.
Further on, the boomerang sends the most daredevil of riders tumbling down a giant ramp, with a descent as fast as the ascent, between a plunge into darkness and a vertiginous slope! Then it’s off to test the Tornado: 180 m of descent before whirling into a giant funnel. Wow effect guaranteed!
Fancy a trip down the Colorado rapids? Climb aboard a three-seater inflatable canoe and glide down a slide with a few high turns… It’s a blast! One more for the road? The Black Hole, the infernal aquatic descent for two on a buoy… in complete darkness!
SEASON’S NEWEST feature: theIndian Viper, a spectacular toboggan offering unparalleled sliding sensations.
What can you do with your little ones at Aqualand?
With young children, we recommend Children’s Paradise. Here, the slides are very gentle, with water jets and slides adapted to the smallest (children under 1.20 m). Families will also be tempted by the Lagoon Paradise, the coolest of all relaxations, with a pretty water ride on a buoy, amidst tropical vegetation.
And if you’re more into relaxation (and not at all into sensations)
The Gujan-Mestras water park isn’t all thrills and slides. It’s also an oasis of relaxation, where you can bask in the sun with your toes outstretched and a smile on your face! Head for the VIP zone, where Balinese beds, deckchairs and parasols invite you to laze around. If you want to take it easy, there’s nothing quite like a break at the Bubble Bath. As a perfect thalasso aficionado, all you have to do is slip into the bubbling baths and let the jacuzzi bubbles do their work. And don’t worry, you won’t want to leave! Also worth discovering: the Surf-Beach, a large, stunning wave pool!
Camping tips
Between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., the park is not yet too crowded, and queues are shorter at the attractions. You can reserve your entrance with a “fast pass”. During the summer, cloudy days are a good compromise for enjoying Aqualand without the big crowds.
