The Arcachon carousel, timeless!
As you stroll along the Thiers jetty, a must for Arcachon holidaymakers, you’ll come face to face with an authentic wooden horse merry-go-round. Our mini-campers will be delighted to take an “old-fashioned” carousel ride, with the added bonus of a beautiful ocean view! Afterwards, it’s time to continue the ride by savoring a delicious Italian ice cream or devouring churros at snack time!
Arcamômes, magical shows for children
In July and August, Arcachon’s Parc Mauresque becomes the stage for free shows for children during the “Arcamômes” events. In the evening, clowns, puppets and other amusing characters offer little ones entertainment full of surprises: musical sketches, amusing acts and enchanting tales… All in all, there’ll be stars in your eyes and memories in your head by the time you get back to the campsite!
Beach clubs, the dream playground for little campers
The Arcachon basin offers your children a fantastic playground: the beach! The little campers will be happy to have fun and make new vacation friends thanks to Arcachon’s beach clubs! Club Mickey – L’Hippocampe takes up its summer quarters on Plage des Arbousiers, Club de plage Les Mouettes welcomes children near the Thiers jetty, while Les Marsouins offer their activities opposite the Arcachon Convention Centre. On the program: swimming lessons, trampolines, swings and slides, team games, sporting challenges and prizes to be won… the joys of vacations by the sea!
Arcachon Basin Zoo, one of the largest zoos in the Nouvelle Aquitaine region
Just a 20-minute drive from the campsite, the Zoo du Bassin d’Arcachon is sure to please the kids! The youngest visitors will marvel at the African elephants and giraffes, Bornean orangutans, red pandas and snow leopards. Spread over 22 hectares of forest, the zoo is home to almost 800 animals and over a hundred species, some of them very rare, such as the Indian rhinoceros. A touch of the exotic for your camping vacation in Arcachon!
La Coccinelle amusement park, a paradise for children aged 0 to 12 and over!
Among the leisure parks dedicated to children and toddlers, La Coccinelle in Gujan-Mestras is the oldest amusement park in Aquitaine. Located a 10-minute drive from the 4-star Ker Helen campsite, this animal and amusement park is Europe’s first pet and childhood theme park. The Mini-Farm will delight the youngest visitors, who can stroke the baby animals and even bottle-feed the little lambs and kids! On the attractions side, discover the Splash River and slide down a 10-metre-high waterfall, the mine train and its vertiginous descent, the flying ladybugs, the giant slide, the zip lines and inflatables, not forgetting the numerous water games and magic shows. All the park’s thrill rides and attractions are child-friendly, and are sure to delight young and old alike!
