O time, suspend your flight! Experience the thrill of paragliding over the Dune du Pilat! Here’s everything you need to know before you take to the skies.

Seen from the sky, everything is even more beautiful!
Make the most of your camping vacation near the Dune du Pilat (or Pyla) to discover the Bay of Arcachon by paragliding on a first flight or a tandem flight with a state-qualified instructor. Between sky, sea and sand, the Bay of Arcachon is laid bare: the Dune du Pilat, the Banc d’Arguin, Ile aux Oiseaux, the Cap-Ferret peninsula… Breathtaking vistas and heady memories!
Available to everyone, paragliding offers an incredible feeling of freedom, discovery and escape. Paragliding is a totally silent aerial sport, as the aircraft is not motorized. Equipped with a large sail, a harness (called the seat) and lines (the ropes attached to the canvas), paragliding is carried by winds and thermal currents.
How old do you have to be to go paragliding?
Paragliding can be taken up from the age of 6, with no age limit. However, you need to be in good physical condition. The youngest, and therefore the lightest, can fly as soon as they weigh at least 20 kg on the scales. The maximum weight is 110 kg. No medical certificate is required.
How to dress for a paragliding flight?
You don’t have to be a cosmonaut to fly through the sky! You can dress casually. A pair of sneakers and a good jacket (or fleece) are all you need to tempt the thrill and protect you from the wind once you’re in the air.
Is paragliding scary?
There’s no such thing as vertigo in paragliding, because your feet don’t touch the ground. However, when you’re a novice, you may feel a little scared at first, but the desire to fly remains strong. Rest assured, your instructor, always at your side, won’t let you down!
The “contemplative” flight is the ideal formula for a first approach to paragliding: a calm flight, without too much acceleration or centrifugal force, to discover the sensations of free flight. No dizziness or gagging, just a gentle ride!
The more sporty may prefer the “sensation flight”: a more daring flight, with more commitment, more speed and a few aerial acrobatics to boot. Perfect for thrill-seeking paragliders!
How much does it cost?
Flights last between 10 and 20 minutes, depending on price and type of experience. For a tandem paragliding flight, you should expect to pay around €50 for 10 minutes and €80 for 20 minutes.
